To protect our animals and biosecurity:
Proper footwear is required — rubber or waterproof boots are best.
If you’ve visited another farm recently, please disinfect your boots before coming.
Due to the current bird flu concerns, only sanitized rubber boots will be allowed into pastures.
We will have boot covers available for guests who wish to interact with cattle from a safe space near the fence or a confined area.
No children under 12 are allowed in the pasture. However, they may ride in a vehicle during the pasture portion of the tour.
All minors under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
All adult guests must sign a liability waiver before entering restricted areas.
Our Highland cattle are gentle, but they are still large livestock. We prioritize safety at all times.
Welcome to Lazy Knoll Farm!
We’re so excited to share our love for Highland cattle and our peaceful corner of Pilot Mountain, Surry County, North Carolina with you. Farm tours are available by appointment only and are a wonderful way to meet our animals, learn more about Highland cattle, and see what rotational grazing with cattle and Babydoll sheep looks like in practice.
Tours are scheduled in advance to allow us to plan around our daily farm work. We do charge a $100/hour fee per group (up to 4 people) because your visit takes time and care away from daily operations. To book a tour, please email Elizabeth Payne directly at:
📧 LazyKnollFarm@gmail.com
Once your date is confirmed, we’ll send directions and a link to make your $25 non-refundable deposit. The remaining $75 is due in cash upon arrival.
